Roses – they’re romantic, they’re stunning in a vase, and many have a dreamy fragrance. Plant them in your garden beds, your shrub borders, and tumbling over arbors and fences. Fill your garden with color or plant white roses for a showy evening garden.
We received over 540 roses this week and our rose area is overflowing with gorgeous choices. Shop our David Austin English Roses, Hybrid Teas, Grandifloras, Floribundas, Climbing Roses, Shrub Roses, Knock outs, and Drift Roses. More roses arrive next week.
You can check out our inventory here, but we recommend seeing them in person. Right? Live a little and take the time to “smell the roses”.
Other than Knock Out and Drift Roses, most of these roses can’t be reordered, so if you love it – buy it while we still have it!
Success with Roses
Did you know that 95% of your success with roses is determined at planting time?
Plant for Success:
- Site roses in a minimum of 6 hours of sun, the more sun the better!
- Good drainage is a must (see Planting Hole & Backfill below).
- Watering – roses like generous, but not swampy, amounts of water. Water deeply and regularly.
- When watering, water in the morning at the base of the plant to keep the foliage dry.
- Fertilize with Rose-tone when you see the first flower bud color and then once a month through mid-September.
Planting Hole & Backfill:
- The planting hole should be 3’ wide x 1’ deep.
- For the backfill mix together well: 50% your native soil and 50% Daddy Pete’s Lawn & Garden Soil.
- Mix 1 cup lime into the backfill (roses love the calcium).
- Optional – mix 1 cup triple phosphate or soft rock phosphate into the backfill.
- The top of the root ball should be even with or slightly higher than the surrounding soil once planted.
- Mulch after watering to conserve moisture and prevent weeds.
