Calling all gardeners! Ever wondered can I plant this next to that? Or does this grow well next to this? Find out in this informative workshop where we will discuss companion planting within the vegetable garden. We will dive into interplanting vegetables, herbs and flowers in order to improve the garden’s layout. Topics include companion and enemy plants, planting to improve harvest, trap crops, biological pest control, soil enhancement, attracting pollinators and more!
About me:
About Kira Hammonds: Being raised on a small farm in Western North Carolina, Kira has always had an affinity for plants and being outdoors. Kira joined the Reems Creek Nursery Crew in May of 2020, and has worked her way up to the current Tropical, Annual, Vegetable and Aquatic Plant Coordinator. Kira graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science. Along with her experience working in her home garden, she also spent a year working on a CSA Farm. Kira enjoys spending her days with her Fiancé, Matt, on their small farm tending to their flock of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys!
