Help us launch our butterfly on the Asheville Butterfly Trail! In collaboration with our friends Bee City USA – Asheville, we are hosting the giant human-sized Gulf Fritillary Butterfly in our Pollinator Garden.
Ribbon cutting will happen on Thursday, Sept. 12th at 12pm. This event is FREE and open to all ages. We will also have a food truck, The Po Wagon featuring creole cuisine, from 10:30 – 2:30.
These beautiful butterflies rely on our native Passionflower vine, Passiflora incarnata, in order to complete their lifecycle. Look for this vine in our Pollinator Garden! It has stunning out-of-this world flowers, edible fruit, and the foliage has a long history of herbal usage.
If you would like to invite and host these butterflies to your garden we expect our next shipment of Passionflower vine to arrive next February.
You can find also Gulf Fritillary Butterflies painted on the front of our funky new-to-us van, located right at our entrance.
Stay tuned for more details!
