Join us for this informative workshop where we will dive into the methods of increasing biodiversity in your backyard vegetable garden, and why creating a diverse ecosystem is so important. Topics include companion planting, soil enhancement, attracting beneficial insects and more!

Kira Blankenship Biodiverse GardenABOUT KIRA BLANKENSHIP: Being raised on a small farm in Western North Carolina, Kira has always had an affinity for plants and being outdoors. Kira joined the Reems Creek Nursery Crew in May of 2020, and has worked her way up to our Coordinator of Tropicals, Annuals, Vegetables and Aquatic Plants. Kira graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science. Along with her experience working in her home garden, she also spent a year working on a CSA Farm. Kira enjoys spending her days with her husband, Matt, on their small farm tending to their flock of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys!
